Each of the nine events on the schedule has a guaranteed prize pool worth at least $30,000, and the no-limit hold'em main event has a massive guaranteed prize pool worth $2.5 million.
The buy-in for the no-limit hold'em championship event is just $2,100, which could make it one of the best live tournament values of the year. There will be $440 mega satellite qualifiers for the main event on August 22 and 29 that will begin at 11 a.m. CST.
Players also have a chance during the tournament series to earn points toward the River Poker Series point champion. Each tournament will award points during the tournament series and the overall champion will win a 2010 Porsche Cayenne at the end of the tournament series.
The main event will have opening round days on Sept. 2-4. Main event days will begin at 11 a.m. CST. Players will begin with 10,000 in tournament chips and blinds will start at 25-50 for the first 40-minute level. The top 10 percent from each opening round day will advance to day 2 on Sept. 5. The final 20 players will advance to the championship round on Sept. 6 and play will continue until a champion is crowned that Monday. The winner will take home the top prize cut from the $2.5 million guaranteed prize pool and the 2010 River Poker Series championship bracelet.
